AN Ellesmere Port Asda employee made a young boy's day with a random act of kindness.
Maureen Byrne, 65, started working as a checkouts colleague at the ASDA in Ellesmere Port in September 2022.
Earlier this week, 15-year-old Jacob was at the Grange Road store and was struggling to pay for some Mother's Day flowers as his phone's banking app wasn't working.
Maureen decided to step in and pay for the flowers herself.

Adele, the store's community champion, said: "Having seen everyone going through the checkouts with their flowers it broke Maureen's heart to see this poor little lad look so disappointed at the prospect of not being able to buy his own.
"So she jumped into action and paid for them herself."
Jacob's mum, Kerry Oakes, later posted on a community Facebook group thanking Maureen.
She wrote: "He is so grateful as am I. I wasn’t expecting it at all. My son shall pay the kindness forward. Thank you so much."
Maureen's manager, Caroline Harvey, said: "She's an amazing colleague and we are all proud of her."
