A WOMAN was taken to hospital with a cut finger and neck pain after a bottle was thrown at her car in Bromborough.
At around 8.15pm on Thursday, it was reported that a bottle was thrown at Wendy Cross' blue Renault Megane as she drove home along Rake Lane after a 12-and-a-half hour shift at a hospital.
The bottle hit the passenger side window, causing it to smash.
Recalling the terrifying incident Wendy, who had only passed her test on March 6, told the Globe this week: "You don't expect this sort of thing when you're driving home from a shift at work.
"When the glass smashed, it was like a bomb going off.
"I then drove around to the village in shock and ran into the Pina Loca and the staff called the police as I was dripping with blood and the Bromborough social club came to my aid.
"I was in hospital with neck injuries and had my head taped to blocks and had CT scans and now I'm off work.
"I literally thought someone had thrown a petrol bomb at the window. It was terrifying."
