PORT Sunlight's Lady Lever Art Gallery has been named the 10th best free attraction across the UK in a study.
The data, released by Go Outdoors, revealed the UK’s top-rated free attractions along with other categories such as most popular free attractions and most popular cost-effective outdoor activities.
St. Kilda in The Hebrides, Scotland was crowned UK’s Top-Rated Free Attraction while Lady Lever Art Gallery came in the tenth spot.
The research said that Lady Lever Art Gallery had an overall rating of 4.5 on Trip Advisor and 75% of reviews which were "excellent".
A spokesperson for Go Outdoor said: "For the top-rated free attractions, we looked at Tripadvisor reviews ranking the same locations to find which have the highest percentage of excellent reviews.
"This was done by collecting the number of total reviews for each location and also the number of excellent reviews to find out the difference. This data was collected on 26/01/2023."
History of Lady Lever Art Gallery
The gallery was founded by William Hesketh Lever (1851-1925) and is dedicated to the memory of his wife Elizabeth.
Lever’s business empire made him a very rich man. By 1912 he had personal assets valued at nearly three million pounds.
The gallery has one of the best collections of 18th century furniture in the country and its collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings is world-famous.
It opens from 10am - 5pm Tuesday to Sunday.
