A PRIMARY school in Wallasey has had their new state-of-the-art sensory suite officially opened by Liverpool boxer, Natasha Jonas.
New Brighton Primary School saw a huge gap for what a neurodiverse child requires to access the curriculum, and remain calm and regulated.
Last Thursday (February 16) their new state-of-the-art sensory suite was opened by WBC champion, Natasha Jonas.
Natasha spoke about her Olympic dreams to the pupils at the school.
Headteacher, Daniel Armer, said: "Seeing our school grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our school community is a passion of mine.
"I’m incredibly proud to build on our school’s inclusive reputation with a space that suits the needs of all of our children at New Brighton Primary."

The sensory suite at the school is an integration room for all children who are in a heightened state of mind, and need to have agility movements to self-calm.
They can access a pressured body roller, a spinning whizzy dizzy, liquid floor tiles, a light up infinity mirror and much more.
'It's an innovation for all other schools to follow'
Kate Elsender, SENCO at New Brighton Primary School, said: "We are so lucky to be able to provide a safe space that all children can access. It is really important for our children to learn how to self-regulate if they become overwhelmed."
Seaview Sensory have also helped provide all of the foam-padded walls, projection lamps, liquid flooring and the actual apparatus.
SEND governor, Lucy Barker, added: "Seeing the children returning to class in a calm manner, and able to then enjoy their education with quality first teaching shows that what’s been developed here at New Brighton Primary is an innovation for all other schools to follow."
