A 21-YEAR-OLD from Ellesmere Port has become a finalist in the 2023 Hair and Beauty Awards.
Oliwia Kozlowska went to university and studied law, but realised that it wasn't something that she wanted to pursue once she graduated.
Currently working as a support worker three days a week, Oliwia soon fell in love with doing nails, and completed a nail course in July 2022, becoming a qualified nail technician in gel, BIAB and acrylic in August.
From there, Oliwia, who is home-based, created a space where she could do nails that fitted her busy schedule.
Speaking to the Globe, she said: "I have such a good and loyal clientele.
"They're like my mates because you see them every three weeks. Sometimes it's like therapy for them as well, because it's their time for some self-care.
"I love getting to know everyone on a personal level."
After being approached by the Hair and Beauty Awards telling her to apply in December, Oliwia found out last week that she was a finalist.
She added: "It makes you feel so confident and gives you the boost to just keep going.
"It can get a bit daunting because it's long hours working nails and I want to be able to fit everyone in but this has given me that push."
Oliwia is planning to become a full-time nail technician in the near future as she is currently fully booked three weeks in advance.
