MERSEYRAIL services have been suspended in the Chester and Ellesmere Port area due to a train fault.
The operator confirmed just after 8am today (Thursday, January 12) that trains were currently at a stand on both lines as a result of the issue in Hooton.
A rail replacement bus service is now in operation. It is running from Rock Ferry towards Chester and Ellesmere Port.

A Merseyrail spokesperson said on social media: "Due to a train fault in the Hooton area Services are currently suspended.
"Services towards Liverpool will not be available from Chester or Ellesmere Port until the issue has been resolved.
"Merseyrail has said services will start at Rock Ferry."
