A WOMAN has been hit by two cars in Hoylake.
Police officers confirmed they were called to the scene on Market Street in Hoylake at around 6.45pm on Wednesday, January 11 following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by two vehicles.
There is no update on the woman's condition as of yet.
One local resident, who asked not be named, said: "I only live in the other road and it was all blocked off.
"I could see there was something going on because all the cars and busses were stopped.
"I thought something must be going on.
"My granddaughter was having food delivered and she said: 'oh it probably won't get here now' but when the man arrived I said to him 'oh you got here OK?' and he said they'd just t a tent up and that was at nearly 10pm - as soon as he said that I though 'Oh god'.
"I've lived here my whole life and I just want to know if I know her. It's a close knit community."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in Hoylake.
"We were contacted at 6.45pm tonight (Wednesday, January 11) following reports a female pedestrian was in collision with a Saab on Market Street. It is believed following the first collision she was then in collision with a Ford Fiesta.
"Both drivers stopped at the scene and paramedics were called to the scene.
"Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
"Road closures are currently in place while an investigation is carried out.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to contact SCIU on (0151) 777 5747, or email SCIU@merseyside.police.uk. Alternatively, DM @MerPolCC quoting log 847 of 11th January."
