A MAN has been arrested and charged after he attempted to rob a convenience store in Beechwood.
Michael James Edwards of Bidston Green Drive entered Premier Convenience Store on Fender Way while he was armed with a weapon.
During the incident, which took place at around 5.30pm on Saturday, January 8, the 54-year-old made demands for cash but left empty handed.
He was later detained and arrested.
Merseyside Police have confirmed he has now been charged with attempted robbery, possessing an offensive weapon, and refusing to provide a drug test sample.
Edwards will appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, January 10.
