THE Mayor of Wirral has laid flowers in memory of Elle Edwards after she was fatally shot on Christmas Eve.

Councillor Jeff Green visited the murder scene at The Lighthouse Pub in Wallasey Village where 26-year-old Elle died.

Cllr Green lay a bouquet of red and white flowers in memory of Elle paired with a branded flower card note. It read: “The whole of Wirral is deeply saddened by this terrible and senseless loss of life – May Elle find justice for this terrible crime.”

Elle was enjoying a night out with friends and family when a gunman shot towards the crowded front entrance of the pub shortly before midnight.

Elle, who was a beautician, was shot in the head outside the pub. She was not the intended target of the killer but was hit in the head by a fatal bullet which caused her to die later in hospital.

Cllr Green told the Globe: “Like everyone, I am shocked and angry at what happened on Christmas Eve and feel deeply saddened by this terrible and senseless loss of life.

“Our whole community’s thoughts are with Elle and her family and friends, so I visited the area today to lay flowers and pay respects on behalf of the Council and all our residents.

“I know Merseyside Police is working around the clock to get justice for Elle and their investigations are making progress, but they still need our help.

“If anyone has any information, please report it to Merseyside Police, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
