AS we approach 2023, we asked Globe readers what the best thing was to happen to them this year.
Zoe Boyd told the best thing to happen to her was giving birth to her baby.
She said: "I gave birth to my baby boy on New Year's Day."
Jackie Denham said hers was having her son come home from Australia.
Michelle Louise Ward said: "My baby girl was born."
Maggie Goodchild Kendall said: "My beautiful grandson was born."
Nickie Jones told the Globe: "I bought a renovated house and I love it, and also had my third baby born at home in a pool, perfection!"

As well as new babies and new homes, 2022 was the first year in a while that saw everyone getting together for a normal Christmas without any mention of Covid-19.
Yvonne Wooster said: "Probably being able to meet up with family at Christmas for the first time in three years."
Many people got to travel again and explore the world.
Lucy Jones said: "Finally got a holiday abroad."
Daniel Smith added: "Meeting New friends and enjoying the nice sunny weather."
Linda Hill said her best moment was retiring.
And Jane Stevens said hers was passing her driving test.
