OVER the past year, Wirral MPs have been gifted tickets to Wimbledon and football matches along with flights and accommodation for business trips.
The Register of Interest, a system used by MPs to declare earnings on top of their salary, shows MPs in the area have been offered gifts such as match tickets, and invitations to external events.
Mick Whitley
Mick Whitley, MP for Birkenhead was gifted one night's hotel accommodation to attend the Labour Party North West Regional Conference and Unite fringe event, from Unite the Union (North West Region), valued at £120.
Angela Eagle
Angela Eagle, MP for Wallasey, visited Unitaid Parliamentary Network, to meet with Unitaid officials and other supporters as part of Unitaid's 15th Anniversary in Switzerland.
The estimated value of flights and accommodation for this trip in May was £658.23.
In her role as Global Ambassador, she also attended the Health20 Summit hosted by the G20 Health and Development Partnership at the WHO headquarters, in Switzerland.
The estimated value of the trip, including flights, accommodation and food £1,241.37 was donated to her by Sovereign Sustainability and Development.

Alison McGovern
Meanwhile, Alison McGovern, MP for Wirral South, was gifted a match ticket and hospitality, valued at £500 from Liverpool FC Foundation.
She also received two tickets with hospitality to the Ladies Wimbledon Tennis Final, valued at £1,260.
Alison visited Minnesota for a four-day trip in October to attend an annual conference.
The estimate of the value of flights, other travel, hotel, event costs, food and sustenance was £1,776.34.
Margaret Greenwood
Interestingly, Margaret Greenwood, MP for Wirral North, had no records on The Register of Interest website.
