A LOCAL band member decided to write a Christmas song to raise money for a charity that helps refugees in the area.
Christopher Johnston, 48, is a member of Neston-based band, Medical Negligence.
After closely working with founder of local charity, Refugee Assist, founded by Chris Young, Christopher decided to write a song to raise money for them.
Speaking to the Globe, Christopher said: "I've always wanted to write a Christmas song for years and years and i've just never got round to it.
"I thought they are always after money to get stock and clothes, to provide to refugees, and that was my motivation for the song."

The song, Far From Home this Christmas, was released last week, and discusses the struggles refugees face moving miles away from home.
Christopher added: "You can't imagine what it is like for people coming and moving miles away from their home.
"The lyrics describe what it may feel like for them to be on their own in a strange country."
