PEOPLE will have a chance to learn how to grow, cook and eat their own food during a series of community events in Wallasey.

There will be a chance to make a pizza, help plant a summer crop of plants, or join in with cultural inspired crafts, all by taking part in Earth Moves 'Grow, Cook, Eat!' series of free events.

Starting this Sunday (December 11) and taking place until July 2023, you can join in with free planting days and community meals in Wallasey.

The series of free events have been co-designed by local people.

Each community meal will be plant based using locally sourced food, participants will be able to learn how to cook these delicious and low-cost recipes, as well as enjoying a cultural activity at each event inspired by the events theme.

Earth Moves is a Wirral community garden project using horticulture and creative workshops to encourage community cohesion and tackle social issues.

Paula Staunton, project founder said: "We want to help teach local people about food growing, and show how these locally grown foods can be made into so many tasty, low cost dishes.

"You can also learn alot about cultures through food, so we'll be exploring this through a series of fun cultural activities at each of our community meals."

The first event will be a warming festive meal created by Chef Val, with eco friendly crackers and some fun activities for attendees.

As well as planting, health, wellbeing and cultural activities are being used to activate the space for community use.
