A TATTOO artist from Parkgate has opened up her own shop in the Neston town centre.

Becca Potter did her tattooing apprentice four years ago, and became a full-time tattoo artist in 2019.

After working in Heswall for a year, she decided to open up her own business in Neston last month.

Speaking to the Globe, she said: "I've known Neston my whole life and it's got a good sense of community.

"I've been really welcomed and it is a lot more friendly."

Over the past few months, Becca, along with her dad, have been busy getting the shop ready for her customers.

The 25-year-old said: "My dad has pretty much done everything. I also couldn't have done this without my family.

"My boyfriend pushed me to do this, otherwise I think I still would've been working for someone else."

Becca specialises in animal-themed tattoos, producing beautiful real-life portraits. She also does line-work, mandalas and more.

As well as tattooing, Becca fell in love with drawing animals while doing her A-Levels and now draws animal portraits upon request.

She added: "I'm excited for the future.

"I've had people who have stuck with me since I was an apprentice. I have the best customers."

The shop Becca has bought has other rooms which she is hoping to fill with other businesses such as beauticians, physios or even people needing an office space.

She said: "I can't wait to work with other people again. Working in Heswall on my own for a year was lonely, especially coming up to this time of the year."

Becca will be holding an official open day for the shop on Sunday, December 18, where she will be hosting a charity raffle.
