A MUM who lost her partner earlier this year decided to continue her tradition of decorating her house for Christmas after her friends convinced her to.

Eve Waddington, 37, from Birkenhead but who now lives in Ellesmere Port, started decorating the inside and outside of her home for Christmas during Covid-19.

In July, Eve’s partner, Lee Ollerhead, suddenly died in his sleep at a friend's home, aged 38.

Speaking to the Globe, The mum-of-four said: “Decorating my house made kids happy over Covid, that is why I did it originally.

“I wasn’t going to decorate this year, but my friends told me to get the decorations out and set it all up.

“They got it all out and put it in my kitchen, but now it’s set up it’s definitely been worth it.”

Eve and her two younger children, Thomas, 13 and Sofie, eight, have transformed their home for people in the community to come and see.

Outside the house there is a 10ft gingerbread man, along with many other Christmas-themed inflatables, including a Santa and sleigh.

Eve’s living room, at the front of the house, has also been transformed into a Santa’s grotto, with music playing every day through a jukebox.

She added: “Kids ask me throughout the year if I’m going to put everything up, so I’m happy I did it.

“People have donated things to me over the years as well.”

Eve has a couple of finishing touches to add, and the house will be complete.

You can go and see the house on Luton Road, Ellesmere Port until January.
