AS the new trailer for a brand-new movie, The Almond and the Seahorse, was released earlier this month, you might be wondering which locations in Wirral will feature in the film.
The new film, which stars Australian actress Rebel Wilson as archaeologist Sarah, shows her dealing with the complications of her husband, Joe's (Celyn Jones), traumatic brain injury.
Director, writer and producer of the film, Celyn Jones, who is the co-founder of the film’s production company Mad as Birds and stars as Joe in the movie lives in Wirral.
Fellow producers of the film, Andy Evans and Sean Marley also live in Wirral.
Here is a list of five locations which you may recognise which will feature in the movie.
Woods in the gardens of Leasowe Castle Hotel
Leasowe Castle was originally built in 1593 by Ferdinand, 5th Earl of Derby, second heir to the English throne.
After the death of Sir Edward, the Castle passed through several members of the family until it became Leasowe Castle Hotel in 1891.
You will be able to spot the Castle’s woods in a scene with actress Trine Dyrholm, who plays the character Gwen.
Rockpoint Records, New Brighton
Rockpoint Records is a coffee shop and bar with a barber shop and tattoo parlour.
The popular venue will feature in the movie.
The shop is located on 92 Victoria Rd, New Brighton, Wallasey, CH45 2JF.
Ashton House, Oxton
Ashton House is a Resource Centre in Oxton.
It features heavily in the film as it is the location for the traumatic brain injury centre.
It is located at 26 Village Rd, Birkenhead, Prenton, CH43 5SR.
Red Rocks, Hoylake
Red Rocks is an area of sand dunes and reed beds at the mouth of the Dee Estuary and to the west of Hoylake.
The marsh is full of nature and is known as a popular walking trail.
You will be able to spot Red Rocks in the film.
House on Meols Drive
It is unconfirmed which exact house on Meols Drive is featured in the film, but it is the home of characters Toni and Gwen, another couple living with the complications of a traumatic brain injury.
For Gwen, it's always 1999. The face in the mirror is unfamiliar and her partner Toni isn’t recognisable to her despite waking up together every day.
The release date for the film is December 16 in the US, with a UK release date to come soon after, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
