A WIRRAL dance school picked up 17 trophies at a North-West competition over the weekend.

The Victoria Academy of Dance, who range from ages 5-16, attended That's Showbiz North-West heat over the weekend and are on a high after their success.

That's Showbiz North-West are fun, friendly and professional competitions and are suitable for all types of schools large or small.

Members of The Victoria Academy of Dance have been pushing themselves in extra rehearsals and going from strength to strength. 

Older members were training up to five days a week to prepare for the competition.

Wirral Globe:

At the competition, they won a grand total of 17 trophies.

All seven dances that were performed by the group won best in their category plus, all won first to third places overall.

They also won the Adjudicators Award and are thrilled with their overall success.

Vicky Carney, Principal of the dance school, said: "I am beyond proud and so emotional. 

"These kids are just a delight to work with and put their all into everything they do.

"The love and support they have for each other is heart-warming.

"Katie-Ann and I are on cloud nine. It was an absolute joy to see them achieve what they have been striving for for a long time. The buzz amongst our dance family was just gorgeous to see."
