WITH Christmas fast approaching, people will be getting into the festive spirit by attending the ever-anticipated Christmas light switch-ons.
There is nothing better than watching the bright lights with the whole family in the run-up to Christmas.
Here is a list of events and timings that are happening across Wirral in the coming weeks.
West Kirby
The West Kirby Christmas Light Switch-on is taking place on Saturday, November 19.
At the Concourse Plaza, the ‘Big Switch On’ event will have lots of festive fun for all the family including letter writing to Santa with the elves.
The lights will be turned on by Santa himself and the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Jeff Green.
The event will begin at 4.30pm, with the light switch on taking place at 6.30pm.
Oxton
Oxton village will be holding their switch-on event on Sunday, November 27.
The Secret Gardens team will be opposite Elixir selling raffle tickets from 3pm on the day.
The switch-on will take place at around 4.30pm.
Wallasey
Wallasey Village in Bloom invite you to join the Festive Fun at their Christmas Lights switch-on taking place on the corner of Baywater Rd and Harrison Drive.
Mulled wine, mince pies and ‘goodies’ for children will all be available.
The event will be held on Sunday, November 27 at 4pm.
Hoylake
Hoylake and Meols Christmas Lights will be hosting their switch-on at The Row.
The event is being held on Saturday, November 26.
It will start at 4pm, with the switch-on taking place at 6pm for everyone to enjoy.
Moreton
Moreton Christmas Lights are hosting their switch-on event on Saturday, November 19.
Santa’s Grotto is £2 per child, from 10am-3pm at the Christ Church Parish Centre with each child getting a selection box.
24 local businesses will join the Christmas Market at Oakenholt road.
There will also be a Bar and a BBQ from 10am-4pm.
A brass band and entertainers will also be at the event, with a raffle.
The switch on will be at 5pm.
Upton
The Upton Village Community group are celebrating the start of Christmas with by hosting a fantastic light switch on for Upton on the Wirral.
The light switch on will start at around 3pm on Saturday, November 26.
It will be finished by 7pm but the fun will continue with live entertainment in the night.
There will be a variety of Christmas market stalls, food and drink and live entertainment.
Tickets are available by contacting the pub to see Santa and to take part in an Elf disco.
