A MAN from Neston has decided to offer OAPs 50 per cent off some of his services over winter due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Chris Griffiths, 38, set up Unique Heating and Bathrooms 16 months ago.
Speaking to the Globe, Chris said: "Everyone in Neston has been great. People post recommendations on Facebook and they spread the word about the business."
Due to the success of the company since it launched, Chris decided to give something back to the community.
He added: "We're going round to older people's houses and some are saying that they're scared to put the heating on.
"It's quite upsetting actually.
"I see it every day, with people saying they can't put the heating on. I wish I could give them £10 but you can't help everyone sadly."
Chris explained that many are scared to put the heating on in case their boiler breaks, as they have been switched off since last winter.
He said: "I thought if I could help in some way, it would stop people worrying.
"I like helping people anyway and I know it will help Neston and the surrounding communities."
On Facebook, Chris posted his winter deal.
He added: "I try not to charge too much anyway because I don't agree with it.
"I believe that if you look after people they will look after you back."
