THE search for a Wirral grandmother who was reported missing 21 months ago this week continues.
Carol Mighall, from Tranmere, was last seen by relatives on Monday, January 4, 2021. The last reported sighting was on Borough Road in Tranmere three days later, at 7pm.
Merseyside Police say extensive enquiries have been carried out and numerous reports received since Carol was last seen, but there have, so far, been no confirmed sightings.
Appealing for her to come home, Carol's sister Karen told the Globe: "We all still miss her, think about her, love her and wish she was back home were she belongs".
Carol, 53, is described as 5' 4" tall, of slim build and with a pale complexion. At the time of her disapperance she had brown shoulder length hair, often worn in a ponytail.
When last seen she was wearing a khaki coloured parka-style coat with grey fur on the hood, blue jeans and black and white speckled trainers. She was also carrying a black handbag with a shoulder strap.
She is known to frequent Birkenhead and Liverpool city centre and may also have links to Chester.
In an emotional appeal on social media recently, Carol's sister Karen wrote: "We just want you to come back home now or at least let us know that your safe and come home when you're ready to.
"We all miss you, love you and are worried about you - especially dad, mum Dava, the kids, grandkids, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.
"You also have a great niece to meet.
"There isn't a day or night that goes by without us thinking and worrying about you, especially me with our Friday or Saturday nights watching the haunted programmes on youtube.
"There's so much other stuff that you've missed please come home or let us know that your safe love you sis xxx"
Appealing for the grandmother-of-nine to get in touch, Carol's daughter Kayleigh Doyle told the Globe recently: "We're all worried, so please come home. If you don't want to come back yet, just let us know that you're safe.
"We're all missing you."
Carol's partner David Doyle added: "Carol's really known in the area; a real people person. We can be out and about in town and she will stop to talk to everyone.
"She lives for playing with her grandchildren."
Anyone who has seen Carol or knows of her whereabouts is asked to DM @MerPolCC, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, or ring 101 with reference 21000039543.
