THE Royal Naval Association Wallasey started the Armed Forces week by inviting pupils from a local primary school to raise the ensigns.
The ceremony on Monday, which also involved pupils from Egremont Primary school, organised by John Keane who served in the Royal Scots, Royal Engineers and the King's Regiment.
He has been poppy appeal organiser for Wallasey for three years and been involved in the poppy appeal for more than 20 years.

As part of Armed Forces Day tomorrow (Saturday June 25), the Royal Naval Association Wallasey is holding a BBQ at its premises on Riverview Road.
It starts at 12 noon onwards everyone welcome.
