Wirral Poetry Festival has announced that its 12th annual open poetry competition is now open for entries.
The festival is looking for poems of up to 40 lines on any subject and is open to anyone who is interested in entering.
Winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes from a £250 top price to four runners up receiving £25 each.
A spokesperson for the Festival said: “In addition, we are delighted to offer some special prizes reserved for poems submitted by people living or working in Wirral – a top prize of £100 and two runner-up prizes of £25 each.
“We would love to read as many poems as possible from experienced as well as beginner poets.”
