A Wirral comedian has written a new satirical sketch show that is set to launch internationally on Amazon Prime.
Jazz Twemlow grew up in Hoylake and West Kirby and is currently living in Australia where he has worked as head writer for the new show, The Moth Effect.
The satirical comedy series has a variety of different sketches and ‘aims to get away from the default setting we all have of scoffing online so we can get to broader, bigger problems.’
Jazz Twemlow said: "Because of the ten-year age gap with my siblings, I was exposed to lots of great British comedy from an early age.
“There were obvious monoliths like Monty Python and Black Adder, and then years later I fell in love with Big Train and anything that was touched by Chris Morris or Armando Iannucci."
"I think, in some of the sketches, you can probably feel some of that influence coming through.”
Jazz has had a successful career as a stand-up comedian, podcaster and writer for Australian comedies Tonightly With Tom Ballard and The Roast.
He made the move to Australia 10 years ago.
He added: "Ideally, with filming wrapped, I would have loved to come home so my family can keep seeing our daughter.
“We'd take her for walks at Wirral Country Park in Thurstaston or head out to Hilbre Island. All the places that instilled an appreciation of the environment in me from an early age.
“But the state of the pandemic in Australia means that won't happen for a while. I can't wait to come home for a visit soon though."
The Moth Effect launches on Amazon Prime on September 6.
