Wirral's local celebrity 'Fact Master' has become an international author with his inaugural book, WILD about FACTS, flying off the shelves in the UK and several other countries.
Wild Humphrey, from Heswall, who’s real name is Gary Kemp, possesses the remarkable skill of being able to reveal facts within seconds for every day of the year and has turned his amazing knowledge into the first of many books, all of which will run under the 'WILD about…' title.
Since primary school Wild has had a fascination for facts and soon realised he could memorise everything he read, quickly. This led him on to perform in front of live audiences.
The Fact Master said: “I was first invited to Formby Golf Club for a charity event and the event host asked if I would go around the tables and help raise some money, and he then announced to the room that if I couldn’t answer a question he would give them a fiver himself!
Within the hour, Wild Humphrey had a bucketful of cash donated just by telling people all things they never knew they didn’t know.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought if I’m going to do this properly then I need a stage name…and Wild Humphrey was born.”
He explains: “I have an ancestor known as Humphrey the Wild who was a Highwayman from Shropshire, so my brother suggested I call myself Humphrey and then I decided on Wild Humphrey.”
Since then Wild has been hosting and entertaining guests at numerous events.
Wild Humphrey’s skill includes being able to name every American president, Christmas number ones, Grand National winners, and all the things you never knew you didn’t know about any day of the year.
Wild Humphrey will be sharing his knowledge, talking about his book and wow-ing an online audience during An Audience with Wild Humphrey, hosted by JayKay Events, at 7pm on Wednesday, July 21.
The event costs just £10 to attend and guests receive a discount on a signed copy of WILD about FACTS and the chance to pit questions to The Fact Master directly.
Wild Humphrey is eager to be back entertaining guests at live events as soon as possible, but is currently enjoying online events.
Tickets are limited and can be booked now from events@jaykayevents.co.uk
