A DOG show staged by the charitable arm of restaurant chain Mowgli Street Food is back to raise vital funds for Claire House later this year.

Described as "the ultimate family, foodie and four-legged friend day out" the Mowgli Trust Dog Show takes place at Claremont Farm on Sunday, September 19.

There will be seven canine competitions throughout the day, including Best Sausage Catcher and Fancy Dress.

Taking place at the venue on Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, it runs from 9am-4pm and will be hosted by Jonny Bongo of Bongo’s Bingo.

Following 2019's success in raising over £30,000 in six hours, it is Mowgli Street Food’s aim to bring back the fundraiser and donate even more money to Claire House Children’s Hospice, and the families it supports.

Having raised over £700,000 for local charities, the Mowgli Trust's philosophy is to give back to the communities it belongs to and serves.

The restaurant chain's Wirral-based founder and chief executive Nisha Katona said: "Many ask why I launched a dog show the answer is clear. It brings the friendliest, warmest people together all for the love of the dogs that edify our busy lives with their greetings, their smiles and their unswerving loyalty.”

"They give the Great British lifestyle a wag of muddy, humble contentment- a day spent at the altar of the humble things in life is a no bad thing and who can complain when it’s all in aid for the wonderful Claire House.”

Dan Halliday, partnerships manager at Claire House, said: "Support from the Mowgli Trust Dog Show means we can continue to be there for families at the toughest time of their lives.

"We're fortunate that both Mowgli and Claremont Farm are passionate supporters of Claire House, to have a collaborative family event like the dog show is fantastic in helping us to raise awareness of the work we do."

The Mowgli Dog Show expects to see over 5,000 attendees return this year.

Andrew Pimbley, director of Claremont Farm said: "I think that's why people love the show so much, because it doesn't take itself too seriously.

"People love to show off their dogs and this gives them the ideal opportunity to do just that – and to collect funds for a great charity.

"It just ticks all the boxes of a great family day out – and we all love our animals, especially dogs.

"If the past 12 months have shown us nothing more, they have shown us how important man’s best friend is."

What’s more, tickets are already on sale for what’s promised to be one of the best family days out to be had.

Mowgli Street Food is looking for a main sponsor to join them on the day.

This partner will play a crucial part in raising funds, to enable Mowgli to continue supporting the children and families of Claire House and the North West community for a long time. If you would like to be involved as this year’s major sponsor, please email: zara@mowglistreetfood.com
