A home baker in Bromborough has baked up a storm to raise funds for a local hospice in Wirral.
Owner of Afternoon Tea To You, Karen Davies, baked over 200 cupcakes for the event on June 12 – selling out in just over an hour.
The event raised £371.45 to support Wirral Hospice St John’s in their ‘Care for a Cuppa’ campaign.
Karen said: “Wirral Hospice St. John’s is such an important part of our Wirral community so it was a great pleasure, and a lot of fun, to prepare the cakes for people to enjoy.
“We had a really brilliant day and I was thrilled to raise some much needed funds for our lovely local hospice.”
Wirral Hospice St John’s launched the ‘Care for a Cuppa’ campaign for residents to raise donations whilst sharing a cake and cuppa with family and friends in community events.
All the funds raised from community events go towards the running of Wirral Hospice St John’s including their inpatient ward, wellbeing centre, Hospice at Home and outpatient clinic and support for family and friends in the Wirral community.
