A successful Cheshire bakery business is expanding further into Wirral, with its second premises set to open in Bromborough next month.
Nantwich-based craft bakers Chatwins already have a store on Telegraph Road in Heswall, but are currently fitting out a second location on the corner of Dawpool Drive and Allport Road, in the heart of a busy stretch of local shops within close walking distance of Bromborough train station.
Up until recently, the unit was a charity shop run by Age UK and has formerly been Jack Beanstalk video and Allport hardware store.
A short post on Chatwin's Facebook page said: "We're excited to have started work on our new shop on Allport Road in Bromborough. We can't wait to welcome you when we open July. We look forward to seeing you soon."
Currently the shop is still an empty shell, but Chatwins have published a visual impression of how it will appear once works are completed.
The history of the mid-Cheshire success story dates back over 100 years, when John Chatwin delivered fresh bread on a horse drawn van.
Now the company has more than 20 shops and 300 employees, producing award-winning bread, cakes, pasties and pies.
It is understood that the Bromborough outlet will not have an eat-in facility but this is yet to be confirmed.
Another bakers - Baker Street - is already located on the same row of shops.
