The Coronavirus vaccination programme continues to make rapid progress in Wirral, with around one third of the borough's population having received their first dose.
NHS England has previously published weekly vaccination figures showing a combined total for Cheshire & Merseyside, but data is now available at local authority level, revealing a clearer picture for the borough.
Today's report reveals that up to February 21, 107,589 people in Wirral have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Of that total, 58,193 were aged under 70 - now more than half of the total roll-out in the borough so far.
A break down of the progress by each Wirral constituency is as follows:
- Birkenhead - 23,548
- Wallasey - 25,017
- Wirral South - 25,625
- Wirral West - 26,267
The figures include vaccinations administered in hospital hubs, local vaccination service sites (such as GP practices) and vaccination centres.
In the report, vaccinations in care homes and vaccinations of social care staff are not broken down to a localised level, which may explain why the overall total for Wirral is higher than the four constituencies combined.
So far, 9,229 people have received their second vaccine dose across Wirral, of which 7,026 were aged over 65.
In total, Wirral has administered 116,818 jabs of the first and second dose combined, since the roll-out started on December 8, 2020.
The report is compiled by NHS England using data from the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS).
