It's no secret that the men and women of Wirral like to glam up for a day or night out and now there is data to back the claim up.

New research released this week reveals the beauty capitals of the UK, with Birkenhead being revealed as the UK’s 10th most beautiful town or city!

Using a list of some of the most populated urban areas in the UK and the London boroughs, the team at NicelyPolished looked at the number of hairdressers & hair stylists, hair removal salons, nail salons and tanning salons within each area.

They then divided that number by the area of each city or borough in square miles to find the number of beauty locations per square miles.

Mereysiders might be less impressed to learn that Salford was ranked as UK's most 'beautiful' city, but if you need to look your best, you're still spoilt for choice in Birkenhead!
