One of the UK’s fastest growing travel agency chains has opened its first Merseyside branch in Wirral.

Polka Dot Travel opened the doors of its newest store in Birkenhead on February 17.

With 18 branches across Staffordshire, North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire, the independent travel firm is proud to be adding a Merseyside presence to its successful portfolio.

Company Director, Mark Johnson said: “A considerable amount of our website and social media traffic is from Merseyside.

“We have a strong database of customers who travel a considerable distance to visit our stores, showing a strong demand for our brand.

“We felt it was a priority that we have a local presence on the high street to service our customers from the area’.

At the helm of the new branch is Louise Joyce, an accomplished manager and local lady with over 17 years’ experience in the industry.

When asked how she felt about the store opening Louise said: “I am excited to get Birkenhead on the map for Polka Dot Travel as its first Merseyside shop opening. I am confident in the great team of staff I have who will help me achieve this. The knowledge within the Birkenhead team is second to none.”

Supporting Louise in this key opening is Assistant Manager Kayleigh Povall, with a team of other other experienced travel professionals.Within 24 hours of their new Facebook page going live, they had gained a following of over 700 customers looking forward to welcoming them into the town. Popular destinations so far have included family holidays to the Mediterranean and Turkey.

Budapest and Krakow are also proving to be a top choice for city breaks.
