STAFF made redundant following the collapse of Thomas Cook have found new jobs with the opening of a new travel agents in Liscard.

Barrhead Travel's new branch was officially opened at the Cherry Tree Centre, bringing six local ex-Thomas Cook staff back to work.

The Scottish firm recently confirmed an expansion plan to open up to 100 new stores and rehire as many employees as possible in the wake of the Thomas Cook collapse. Collectively, the Wallasey team boast over 100 years of travel experience.

Manager Kerry, said: "This is such a fantastic opportunity we have been given by Barrhead Travel and are delighted that we have our original team back together.

"The range of holidays we can now offer our customers is really exciting.

"We have access to many different travel partners which allows us to give our clients a multitude of choice and finding exact matches to their holiday needs.

"We are overwhelmed with the amount of support we have received so far from the local area and we cannot wait to welcome everyone into the new Barrhead Travel Wallasey branch."
