A popular pub in Wirral will close its doors for good on Sunday, it has announced.
Bromborough's OC Bar & Grill at Knockaloe Hall broke the news via it's Facebook page on Friday afternoon, stunning local residents.
The social media announcement said: "After 14 years of service we are closing the doors. The last day of trading will be Sunday. We would like to thank you all for your support over the years.
"We have met great customers and made friendships that will continue on. Please can you keep in mind that the staff have lost their jobs and doing their best to continue service. Please be sensitive to this.
"Due to the closure we won't be taking cards. The bar will be cash only. We wish you all the best in the future."
The OC Bar & Grill resides in the Knockaloe Hall sports and social club on Bridle Road, which houses football pitches, tennis courts, a play area, snooker hall and a function suite, amongst other facilities.
It is currently unclear how the sporting facilities will be affected following the bar closure on Sunday.
The venue was formerly the Octel Sports and Social club before changing hands.
The Globe has contacted OC Bar & Grill management for comment.
