A WIRRAL mum who featured on BBC series The 1900 Island has released her first children's book based on her experience.
Natalie Davies, from Saughall Massie, took part in the BBC Two series earlier this year with her husband Gavin and five children.
The 1900 Island saw four families live on Llanddwyn, an island just off the coast of Anglesey, for four weeks as they tried to make a living through fishing.
Transported back to 1900, the families were handed a small ration of food to get them started and experienced what it would have been like living a hand-to-mouth existence while enduring everyday challenges with no running water or electricity.
Natalie's new children's book - Mickey The Fisherman
Natalie was so inspired by the experience and the people she met that she has now released her first children's book called 'Mickey the Fisherman - Pollution.'
The book has been designed to 'gently' introduce children to the effects of plastic pollution on the natural world.
Natalie told the Globe: "The history of Anglesey and the people I met there have left an indelible mark on my heart, and these books are based on our good friend from 'The 1900 Island' and Welsh fisherman, Mickey Beechey.
"The books are full of love, kindness and generosity, things my time on Anglesey was full of.
"Things we can all share."
'Mickey The Fisherman - Pollution' is available on Amazon now, priced at £4.99 and is available via http://mybook.to/mickeythefisherman
