A talk from Professor Steve Harding about Wirral's Viking past will be taking place later this week.
Named 'People Power – Rediscovering Wirral’s Great Viking Past', the talk will be held at Wallasey Central Library on Friday, September 20 at 2pm where Professor Harding will discuss how residents and its environs have helped rescue the borough's Viking past from near oblivion.
It will also delves into how Wirral is a 'hotspot' in the Viking world with key finds being discovered all the time.
Professor Harding will give an update on the latest plans to excavate a ship which has been buried under Railway Inn in Meols, discuss possible locations for a Wirral Viking centre and will be signing books.
There is disabled access and refreshments will be available.
