Some of the best amateur golfers in the world will tee-off at Hoylake this weekend for the 47th biennial encounter in the Walker Cup.
It is one of the most prestigious events on the calendar and ten of the finest amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland will take on ten of their American counterparts from September 7 to September 8.
Over the years the tournament has featured young golfers who have gone on to become world-beaters including Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
The match will be played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club known as the "spiritual home" of the Walker Cup.
SPECTATOR INFORMATION FROM THE R&A
Travel by Road
To ensure the best possible flow of traffic, we are urging all motorists to use the designated traffic routes, which will be clearly signed by black and yellow AA signs.
Please follow the signage to the Public Car Parks, Reserved Car Parks and Coach Park.
Those ignoring the identified routes are likely to experience delays.
Directions and Car/Coach Parking
All traffic should follow existing motorway signage to the M53 and leave at junction 2, then follow the black and yellow AA signs to The Walker Cup.
Please follow the signage to the appropriate car park as shown on your reserved parking pass.
If you do not have a reserved parking pass, please follow signs for Public Parking.
Parking for blue badge holders is provided in the Orange A reserved car park; please display your blue badge to gain entry to this area.
All public car and coach parking is provided free of charge. The public car parks will operate from 7.30am until 8.00pm on Match Days only (Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 September). Overnight parking is prohibited. T
Travelling by Rail
The nearest rail station to the course (10min walk) is Hoylake, which can be reached by taking the Wirral Line to West Kirby from Liverpool Lime Street lower level.
Follow the pedestrian signage from the train station to the course and please use the designated crossing points.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
The Walker Cup is played over two match days - 7 & 8 September.
Although teams will be practising there are no official practice days.
Paygate Opening Times:
Saturday 7 September - 7.30am
Sunday 8 September - 7.00am

Keep up-to-date with all the action through the electronic leaderboards located at four locations around the course.
Left Luggage Facilities
There will be a complimentary left luggage facility located in the Spectator Village, operated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that security bag searches may be in operation.
Food & Drink
Enjoy a wide selection of food and drink within the Spectator Village.

Programmes may be purchased from kiosks at The Walker Cup.
Accessibility at The Walker Cup
The R&A endeavours to provide a standard of accessible facilities for all visitors and spectators.
Some areas on the golf course are unsuitable for many spectators, with rough and sloping ground which can become soft and slippery in wet conditions.
Marshals have been requested to assist in asking spectators to allow wheelchair users to access the front of the rope line where possible.
Accessible toilets will be provided in the Spectator Village and catering facilities and spectator experience areas will be accessible for wheelchair users.
Cash Points
There is no cash point facility onsite at Royal Liverpool. The nearest cash point can be found in the town of Hoylake.
Safety
Remember to wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Don't forget your sunscreen and your umbrella!Please do not bring pets.
Please do not bring stepladders or similar. Chairs are permitted.
Medical and First-Aid
Medical and first-aid facilities will be available within the Spectator Village.
Mobile Device & Camera Policy
A policy will be in place to ensure play is not disrupted in any way.
Mobile devices will be permitted inside the pay gates with signage at appropriate points advising spectators to be respectful of play and to switch to silent mode when on course.
No audio or video capture is permitted at any time.
No still photography is permitted on Match Days.
Data use (e.g. texting, e-mail, website access, etc) is permitted throughout the golf course. Volume must be muted at all times
Spectators who breach any provision of this policy will be subject to the terms and conditions of ticket sales.
