A POTTERY studio popular with both young and old alike has moved to a new home in Hoylake.
The Potting Shed – a paint-your-own pottery studio and coffee shop opened the doors of its new, larger store on Market Street on April 12, after eight years in Heswall.
The move comes just weeks after The Potting Shed was named the borough’s best Family Friendly Business at the Wirral Tourism Awards on April 2.
Owner Jeanette Hatter said: “It’s not been an easy move, the process has taken more than year and we are very excited.
“We have been welcomed warmly by all the local businesses who have been generous with both their advice and lots of cups of tea – Hoylake is proving to be a very friendly place.”
The store was opened by Wirral mum Joanna High and her two children, seven-year-old Katarina and 10-year-old Shannon, after they won a competition on the business’s Facebook page.
Speaking to the Globe following the award win, Jeanette said: “Every visitor will find a warm welcome, a friendly smile, helpful knowledgeable staff who genuinely care that you have a good time.
“This business is all about fun and we try to make sure that everyone who visits us enjoys the experience as much as we do.”
Although the Potting Shed – which opened in 2006 – is primarily a pottery painting studio, it also offers a range of other crafts including clay, decopatch and canvas painting.
It boasts a loyal customer base, with people travelling from all over the north west to see what Jeanette and her team has to offer.
