THIS low budget film started life as an online series - a viral indeed.

Now this charmingly urbane tale has a big screen version written by and co- produced by its likeable star Jonny Owen.

Jonny plays Dixie - a South Wales postman who wants to be a rock and roll manager.

He finally finds a band he believes in while going through You Tube.

He discovers a very good, raw unsigned outfit called The Premature Congratulations.

Naieve Dixie convinces his girlfriend Michelle - a great performance from Vicky McClure - to support his star trek with a difference.

The band - now called The Prems, start to gain attention. But what will Dixie do when there are sharks out there in shady London town?

Alan McGee, the man who gave us Oasis, plays himself with great self effacing humour.

There's also sparkling input from record shop owner Don - played by Sherlock star Martin Freeman.

He wears hideous Mod shirts and over-sized specs to match.

A superb role for Martin who shines for the shirt time he is on screen.

The soundtrack is pretty impressive and adds to the appeal of this feel good film which deserves wider recognition.

Jonny Owen is the un-doubted star as he works hard to sell his band around seedy Soho.

Dressed in a parka coat, borrowing money and carting around demo taped in a Tesco bag, he makes you want him to succeed.

I look forward to seeing this charismatic actor again.

At the Light Cinema he gave an illuminating question and answer session with writer Kevin Samson after a screening.

He described how this modern day Rock and Roll Rom Com finally got made to critical acclaim.

The film is a funny, warm, gritty, and endearing story of dreams that can come true - but sometimes you have to wake up to realise what you already have.

Dixie may have his head in the clouds but he is no fool.
