I WRITE as a concerned parent in response to Government ideas to ban packed lunches in schools across the UK.
I understand the idea is that school lunches are more healthy.
I am well aware of what is healthy or not for my child.
I work in a school kitchen as a assistant cook and find the quality of fresh vegetables, cuts of meat and frozen produce is sometimes very poor.
Parents and children should have the right to a choice and not to be told what they can and cannot do.
I understand some parents aren't very responsible and feed their children lots of unhealthy things but whether you ban packed lunches or not they will still eat these things.
I have spoken with my young daughter and she is very upset at the idea of banning packed lunches.
I am very sure that other responsible parents share the same views as me.
"A very unhappy parent"
