Firefighters were in action again on Saturday tackling a large grass fire on Caldy Hill.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called out to the area just after 2.40pm and battled for nearly six hours to control the blaze, which covered a large area of grassland near Column Road, between Fleck Lane and Croome Drive.
Crews used hose reels and beaters to tackle the blaze. The fire was extinguished by 8.20pm.
Police were in attendance and directed traffic along Column Road.
Four fire appliances were called out to the incident from West Kirby, Heswall, Upton and Kirkdale community fire stations.
It was the second grassfire last week to break out on the hill. On Tuesday, Column Road was closed to traffic after a major blaze destroyed around 800sq mtrs of gorse and grasslands.
