Striker Akpo Sodje has today signed for Tranmere Rovers on a one–year deal with the option of a further year.

The 33-year old has joined up with his new team mates in training at Raby Vale and will be available for the pre-season friendlies at Altrincham and Accrington Stanley this week.

Sodje has made 290 career appearances and last season he found the net 13 times in 33 matches for Preston North End and Scunthorpe United in League One.

Manager Ronnie Moore said: “I’m pleased to be able to bring Akpo to Tranmere as he’s a player I’ve been looking at for some time.

“He’s a big, powerful centre forward who leads the line well and can score goals.

“With Akpo joining Ryan Lowe, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Cole Stockton at the club we have four good striking options available now and they all offer us something slightly different.”
