RONNIE Moore has confirmed that Inter Milan striker Bocar Djumo is joining the club for training later this week.

Moore said: "He's costing us nothing and he's here for a month for us to look at and if we fancy him we can take him until the end of the season or until January.

"He's a left footed striker who can also play wide on the left. We've got nothing to lose and maybe an awful lot to gain."

Rovers have won their first four pre-season friendlies following a 2-0 win over Marine at the weekend.

It followed a 5-0 drubbing of Rhyl at the club’s Belle Vue ground on Friday night.

Last Tuesday, striker Ryan Lowe scored his fifth and sixth goals of pre-season as Tranmere came from behind to defeat Heswall 4-1 at Gayton Park.

And Lowe scored four of the goals that earned the side a 9-0 victory of Cammell Laird’s at Kirklands last Monday night.

Rovers' pre-season continues against Altrincham tomorrow and Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

Manager Moore says only three trialists remain at Prenton Park following the weekend’s games.

Nine players featured on a trial basis in the matches at Rhyl and Marine but the majority are no longer training with the Club.

He said: "We let a few go after the game on Saturday and we’ve kept James Rowe, Shaun Jeffers and Leon McSweeney.

"We'll have another look at them this week. Rowe is very similar to Max Power, he has good energy and he sees the pass.

"We'll probably make a decision on them after the game at Accrington."

Moore's next chance to assess his squad in action is at Altrincham on Tuesday night, a match that could see Ian Goodison and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro make their first appearances of pre-season.

"Goodison will be back later today and should be available for the game tomorrow,” Moore continued.

"He’s normally back the day before the season kicks off! I can’t remember him having a pre-season, he’s just a naturally fit guy. He’s 40 years old so you don’t want to run the legs off him up and down hills and hopefully it will benefit him not having to work too hard during pre-season.

"Fonners has a hamstring injury and Jean-Louis has had a thigh strain. Jean-Louis is fit to train this morning and will be ok for tomorrow.

"Fonners still has some tightness in his hamstring so we’ll play that one by ear.”
