A 61-YEAR-OLD Wirral man was brought back to the UK from Canada by police amid sexual offence charges.
Paul Cleary was collected by two Merseyside Police detectives on July 9 from Toronto when he was being held by Canadian authorities pending extradition.
He was later charged with 16 counts of sexual assault which relate to the historical abuse of two victims in Merseyside.
Cleary appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court today.
