VICTOR Michael and his orchestra return to the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton next month for a fourth concert in aid of Age UK Wirral's Dementia Care Wing Appeal.

Joining them for the Night At The Theatre show on Saturday August 10 will be The Three Sopranos and host Oliver Mulkeen.

Proceeds will go to the charity's dementia respite care wing at Meadowcroft residential home in Bromborough.

The performance will be filmed by Sky Arts for screening on the channel later in the year.

This show features renditions of Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe’s 1988 hit Barcelona as well as Nessun Dorma and the drinking song.

It will end in a Proms-style finish with the audience invited to sing along to Rule Britannia, Land of Hope & Glory.

Victor trained with the Royal Northern College of Music where his love for classical music developed.

He has travelled the world and performed in front Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Roberto Manchini & Sir Alex Ferguson to name a few.

Looking forward to his show at the Floral Pavilion, the Manchester-born entertainer said: “I do a lot of work for all charities and it’s always good to help raise money.

“There’s always been a lot of support for Age UK Wirral. The shows I’ve done in the past have raised lots of money for the charity, so I’m very happy to help.”

Highlights of Victor’s career include singing with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as the leading Tenor. He has toured the finest theatres worldwide but loves the audiences at the Floral Pavilion as they always get involved and make it a special night.

Combining smooth vocals with over 19 years of trumpet playing, host Oliver Mulkeen has performed all over Europe and some of the finest venues in the UK including the Barbican Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall.

He has also worked with pop band Liberty X, 60s star Tony Christie and funnymen Roy Walker and Brian Conley.

The Three Sopranos will perform their versions of classics and also duet with Victor. He explained that his partnership with the trio goes further than the stage.

He said: “I was working on an album on my own, but the Sopranos will now be working with me. This was the suggestion of the producer of the Sky Arts programme.

“The partnership is something a bit different and we’re working really well. We’ve also got a show lined up at the Palace Hotel in Manchester.”

“I’ve just finished a two-month cruise ship tour and I’ve got an open-air concert in Dubai later this year.”

Lynne Hamilton, fundraising and marketing manager for Age UK Wirral said: "We are delighted to have Victor back in Wirral for this amazing show, and we are even more excited to know that its being recorded for the TV , what a fantastic opportunity for us all.

"Victor has been a great supporter of our cause, and all the money raised from this show will go towards our new Dementia Respite Care Wing at Meadowcroft Bromborough.

"It will be a great night and we are looking forward to the proms style finish and everyone waving their flags singing along, it promises to be a great night.”
