A 57-YEAR-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Birkenhead this morning.
The victim - a local man aged in his 50s - was allegedly attacked inside an apartment building in Market Street at around 9.10am.
The victim sought help at a chemists in Market Street where emergency services were called. Paramedics took him to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital for treatment.
His condition is currently described as serious but stable. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police officers cordoned off the area where the incident occurred and detectives are carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
A knife has been recovered from the area and will be forensically examined.
