Wirral by-pass closed after crane strikes bridge
POLICE have closed a Wirral road after a lorry hit a bridge while driving underneath it.
The incident happened at around 3.50pm on the A41 New Ferry By-pass, Birkenhead.
Damage was caused to the bridge after the lorry’s crane hit it and debris is on the ground.
The road has been closed each way until the bridge has been inspected.
No one was injured.
