BRADBURY Peter On 3rd November 2013 after a lengthy stay in hospital - the world lost Peter ("Pete") Stuart Bradbury at the age of 85. Pete leaves behind his wife, Janet Mary Bradbury (née Bennett), his cousins Kate and Simon Radford, a host of Canadian nephews and nieces and a truly formidable wine cellar. Pete was born in Blackburn, England on January 29th, 1938 and predeceased by his parents Annie and Jack Bradbury. After grammar school, Pete happily accepted a position at St Andrew's University in Scotland, where he studied Chemistry and met his wife of more than 50 years, Janet. Pete's first job out of university was at Unilever where he worked as a Research Chemist until he retired to pursue his passion for wine. In the 1970s Pete and Janet, together with friends, co-founded popular Chester-based wine bar, Pierre Griffe which he co-managed until its sale years later. Pete was not only a connoisseur of the grape, but he was also a consummate host, an avid story-teller and a great cook. Pete will be missed by all who loved him, especially his family and his extended family of close friends. Pete's funeral will take place on Thursday, November 30th at 1:30 pm at Landican Cemetery and Crematorium, Arrowe Park Rd, Woodchurch, Birkenhead, Wirral CH49 5LW.
