I AM writing in response to P Hobby's letter regarding the baby on board window stickers for cars.

While I agree that the fancy ones bearing names etc are unnecessary, I do believe that drivers should have some sign that there are little ones in the car.

I understand that the person who originally came up with the idea of the sign had been in a crash and when she regained consciousness in hospital asked where her baby was and the baby was still in the crushed car, thankfully alive but what a horrendous ordeal for both mother and child.

So maybe the answer is to make only the plain small signs legal and do away with the large fancy ones that may distract other road users?
