THERE were 245 babies born in Wirral in March 2024 – did you welcome a new arrival?
Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.
There are stats for the number of babies born at Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital and how many are born at home or at Seacombe Birth Centre as well as the how many new arrivals were breast fed.
They also record the busiest day each month for births and whether babies are born on their due date, a little early or a little late.
There were 245 babies born in Wirral last month – 120 boys and 125 girls with two sets of twins.
Some 104 were vaginal births with 108 caesarean sections and 27 babies were born via ventouse or forceps delivery with 106 inductions.
There were five home or community births and three water births and 160 babies were breast fed.
Only six babies arrived on their due date with 179 arriving early and 60 coming late.
March 4 was the busiest day of the month with 13 babies being welcomed into the world.
