THE body of a man has been found in a section of Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead this afternoon.

At around 4.30pm police patrols found the body near Wickes while conducting searches in the area. A cordon was put in place while police conducted enquiries.

Paramedics attended and the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The cordon has been removed and a post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death. Police say at this time the death is being treated as unexplained and a formal identification is still to take place.
