MERSEYSIDE Police have confirmed that a man’s body was found in a section of the dock near Wirral Met College this afternoon (Tuesday, April 11).
Officers had received a report of a concern for safety at around 10.15pm on Monday (April 10). Following enquiries the body of a man was found in the water near the college's 12 Quays campus at around 2.15pm today.
Paramedics attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
"At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and the man's next of kin has been informed."
